I went to pay at the register that is by the door where the furniture department is on Sunday afternoon,July 20, 2025. The man at the desk was on his cell phone. I said hello he said nothing. He did not look at me the whole time his face had an angry expression as though he was not happy to be there. I waited for him to finish my transaction as I didn’t want him to mess up anything on my account. When I got my receipt, I said to him you know when someone says hello to you you should say hello back. He said in an angry tone: I didn’t hear you! I said oh so you don’t say hello unless the customer says hello to you and if you hear them? He said nothing. He still had that angry face that he had from the beginning. Whether I said hello or not, he should have acknowledged me as a customer and say hello or at least smile that’s all that’s required of him to make the customer feel good and appreciate it. It is rude, not to acknowledge people that are interacting with you in any kind of setting. Being polite is part of customer service.
