A simple battery replacement has turned into a 10 month (and counting) saga.I sent my watch to Breitling via an authorised stockist at the end of January 2024 for a battery replacement. After a few weeks, they contacted the jewellers to say that they had damaged the case of my watch whilst replacing the battery. They gave me the choice of leaving the watch with them in Switzerland whilst the part was on order, or to have the watch back and then send it off again when the part came into stock. Given that they weren’t expecting the part until JULY, I chose the latter.Fast forward to July and I asked the jewellers to call Breitling to see if they now had the part in stock. They were told that the part still wasn’t in stock and it was now expected in SEPTEMBER.At the beginning of October, the jeweller called Breitling again and this time was told that the part was finally in stock. My watch was sent off on 16th October. On 13th November I asked the jeweller to chase the repair and they were told it would be completed by the end of the first week of DECEMBER.On 2nd December, I again asked the jeweller to chase the repair and, unbelievably, they were told by Breitling that the part was not in stock!! Since then, I have been calling the Breitling UK customer service office for updates/information. Whilst they are very sympathetic and helpful, it’s now a week since I first called them and there’s still no definitive information on when the repair will be complete (although they have told me the new case is actually in stock).Last week I also emailed the Breitling UK MD, but haven’t had so much as an acknowledgement of my email.During this whole sorry saga, to add insult to injury, the warranty has expired. I’m honestly speechless at the dreadful customer service.
