The company I work for rents out flats to students. We always get our gas boilers serviced in spring because if you get the servicing done in spring or summer you greatly reduce the risk of a breakdown in winter. Also if anything significant is found whilst the weather is good then it's far less inconvenient. If you are reading this please get your gas boiler serviced in spring and summer for that reason.

Now the gas boiler service was booked between 8 am and 1 pm. I got a phone call from Steve Stroud early morning. We met at the property.

Now he looked at the boiler, took of the front cover and did his stuff. To say the very least he was very thorough. I couldn't believe how much effort he was making. Not only did he check the boiler he checked all the radiators and the hot water tank as well. He gave the central heating system a full check and a clean bill of health. I was very impressed when he also checked the carbon monoxide detector.

He also advised me that for next year's check to remove the cupboard around the boiler so the engineer who came round can put some supporting screws on the flue.

I was very pleased with his work as was the tenant. When we went our separate ways we shook hands and said that in the nicest possible way I hope we don't see each other again for another year. He understood and saw the funny side of it.

So the usual questions.

Would I recommend BG homecare 400 to anyone? All day every day.

Are they worth the money? Good value at 10 times the price.

Would I use them again? Those engineers are 2nd to none. When you've had a gas boiler or central heating emergency the fear of God goes through you. You have to find a quality engineer at short notice. You worry about how much it'll cost. Not with homecare 400 you get a quality engineer for a fixed price. Besides you get an annual service so the chances of that happening are greatly reduced.

What would I advise the public? If you are a member of the public reading this I'd get yourself registered with BG homecare 400 and get your boiler serviced between February to September.
