Last Dec I got an offer from ee offering sports and movies and everything etc all in hd plus broadband for a good price. When I received the equipment and after setting it up the channels I was promised weren't there and also nothing in hd.
I phoned ee and told them. They then listened to the call and found the ee sales guy had got everything wrong and did indeed offer these things so I was in the right.
I then had a manager apologise for the mistake and he offered me the full works custom package for less than the original price quoted offering the discount for the full duration of my contract.
To get this offer I would have to return all the ee stuff and get sent a new router and the same ee boxes from BT instead. I thought that this was a bit weird as they were sending me the same equipment but I went ahead and did it anyway.
So after receiving the same equipment from bt I set it up and all was good. A couple of weeks later I received an email from ee saying they were going to take £200 from my account for early cancellation. I then called them and they said they wouldn't be taking the money as that was a mistake and after all I was still with them but just through the BTside. A couple of days later they still proceeded to take the money from my account anyway putting my bank account into the red and just after Xmas this wasn't a good thing for me. After a few more phone calls they returned the money to me. So after a couple of months with BT ti thought things had settled down only to find them taking £40 more than I was told I was told I would be paying.
I was then told that my discount had come to an end. I said I was told I would receive this discount for the full 24 month contract and the ee rep said she would get a manager to call me back which didn't happen. I called again but struggled toget any sense from BT instead also requested a call from a manager again as I didn't want to be with BT anymore.
So on Saturday I received a call from a manager who put me through to an executive manager who was really rude towards me (i even had to tell her to calm down at one point) anyway she couldn't fix the situation as she could no longer listen to the call that promised the discounted service. But she did offer me to be able to cancel my tv package without an early termination fee. But I would have to keep the broadband which I also wanted to be rid of as I no longer wanted anything to do with them. So i just cancelled the TV package.
On Monday I decided to return to sky gland got a great deal with them and the sky remote ranit through their system and I received an email from BT saying I would have to pay an early termination fee of £179 for the broadband. As sky would pay up to £200 towards my early termination fee from BT instead so didn't see this as an issue and i would finallybe freefromthis shambolic company.
9 minutes later after had signed back with sky i received another email from BT telling me I would have to pay an early termination fee of £249.
I then called BT again only to get cut off after 30 minutes of waiting on the phone. So called again and this rep said i need to pay £238 (this was the third different cancellation fee) so I didn't know what the hell was going on and the whole situation was ridiculous so I requested a call from a manager again within 72 hours which didn't occur.
Today I received another email telling me I need to pay them £435 ( the fourth different early termination fee) just for cancelling the broadband.
I am now at my whits end with this as apparently I can no longer request a call with a manager etc because I am no longer with BT.
I have dealt with some bad corporations in the past but this is by far the most incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I have cancelled my direct debit with BT so now they can't take anything until this final figure is sorted but surely i should only have to pay the £179 (if anything at all after the way i have been treated) which was the first figure they gave me as I completely based my decision to rejoin sky on that figure.
