I applied with Bungalow to rent a room in a shared house. I have not yet moved in, but I have my lease and have paid all my fees. What I can tell you about the application process is that the website is a little bit easier to navigate than many others. Also, once I was signed up with the Resident portal, it had an option from directly within the website to sign up with Appfolio insurance for the required renters insurance. At first, I was quite nervous because it was my first time moving to a place where there would be 5 people I didn't know. But David Arcel explained that these are people who have already had their credit and background checked to ensure that they don't have a criminal history.Perhaps in a year, I will be able to share more about how my experience has been. However, I would just like to say that renting a shared house may be an option for those who are single and have no children or pets. People who have a family will probably need to have their own house or apartment. One key thing that meant a lot to me on the application was the presence of a Non-Binary option for the gender drop down menu. It is a small thing, but I appreciate it as a Transgender person who feels like it is dishonest to describe myself as only male or female. Having this as an option is a very positive thing. Thanks Bungalow!
