I’m an Uber Eats delivery driver and had a shocking experience at this Burger King on 20 December, between 9:30 PM and 10:40 PM.I arrived at 9:30 PM to collect a confirmed Uber Eats order. There were already 10+ delivery drivers waiting, and the store kept accepting online orders even though they were close to closing and clearly couldn’t handle them.At first, because of the long wait, I told the customer to cancel and order from another restaurant. However, a staff member took my order number and assured me the order would be prepared, so I contacted the customer again and asked them to keep waiting. After waiting almost 20 more minutes, the manager suddenly said the store was closed and told me to “get out”, even though I had been assured my order would be prepared. He became rude and aggressive, locked the door while I was still inside, and instructed staff not to pack my order even though it was ready.Due to how serious the situation became, I called the police by phone. The officer spoke directly to the manager and advised him to resolve the issue, but the manager still refused. I eventually had to leave at around 10:40 PM, after wasting over an hour.Because of this, I had to ask the customer to cancel the order after a long wait, and my Uber account was reported, affecting my work. There was also no “store closed” sign displayed, which meant drivers couldn’t even claim compensation from Uber. This was extremely unprofessional, stressful, and completely avoidable. Delivery drivers should not be treated this way. I hope management investigates this properly.
