We had booked three tickets for the At the Top experience at Burj Khalifa, specifically choosing the sunset slot for its promise of breathtaking views. Eager to make the most of it, we left our hotel well in advance and took the Red Line metro, getting off at the Burj Khalifa station.To our surprise, it took us nearly 40 minutes on foot to reach Dubai Mall from the dubai mall station. Once inside the mall, we found there were no clear signboards directing us to the Burj Khalifa entrance. We had to rely on asking shopkeepers for directions, which was both time-consuming and frustrating.Upon reaching the ticket counter, we discovered that our online tickets needed to be converted into physical ones — a process that involved standing in line for another 30 minutes. After that, we were made to walk for an additional half-hour before being herded into a seemingly endless queue that moved at a snail’s pace. My elderly parents were visibly exhausted by this point.After over an hour of waiting, we finally reached the elevators. By the time we got to the observation deck, it was already past 8 PM — the sun had long set, and the much-anticipated sunset view was completely missed. To make matters worse, the deck was extremely overcrowded, making it hard to enjoy the experience.The journey downward was equally frustrating, with another long queue and a 40-minute wait just to descend.In short: If you're planning a visit to the Burj Khalifa, you might be better off admiring it from the outside. The entire experience was chaotic, poorly organized, and exhausting.
