I booked flights to Seoul through BusinessClass.com and also paid extra for their “Cancel for Any Reason” (CFAR) protection.
Later, the airline cancelled the flights. BusinessClass.com refunded the airfare, but refused to refund the CFAR fee of 400$.
The problem is that I never used the CFAR service. I did not voluntarily cancel the trip — the airline cancelled it. Still, BusinessClass.com said the CFAR plan is considered “consumed” and non-refundable in such a case.
Customer service was polite in their replies, but the result was disappointing. In my view, charging for an optional cancellation product and then keeping that fee when the airline itself cancels the trip is unfair.
My advice to other customers: read the terms of all add-on products very carefully before booking.
