We used to be very happy members of CCC and after a break with not having a motorhome we decided to get a caravan and join again. We bought our caravan, booked a lovely site and took our second hand but new to us caravan to site (oh there was no pro-rata price- we had to pay full term even though we were already into the season :/). Amazing managers and we felt welcome. After chatting with the managers it turns out that letting your shared owner (your son) use the caravan a couple of times a year is called "sub-letting". I understand sub-letting to be earning money from your asset but anyway. So I spoke to a gentleman in CCC to discuss that this was a misunderstanding but was told that we had 30 days PRIOR to moving on site where we could cancel. I explained that I work abroad and when arriving in country we decided and bought the caravan, booked the site and paid- usually you get 7 days at least as a cooling off period- especially when its full price for a seasonal site. But apparently not. There isn't much that I am aware of where you don't get a 7 day cooling off period. But after paying nearly £3000 we had to move the caravan off site without any of that money being returned. Very disappointed with what used to be an amazing and compassionate group/ company. We found another amazing site nearby who obviously allow that your own son can use the caravan every so often with rules.
