Canon Printer and ArgosI bought a Canon TS5050 4 years ago and after going through all fixes, checks and cleaning with Canon support to get it to load paper, without a jam, I had to dump it as too costly to send away and get fixed. To replace it in November 2023 I bought a Canon TS8350a through our local Argos store in Sainsbury in Swindon. This printer has now stopped printing correctly missing lines out on a page. Spoke to Canon support site, and did all checks with them, and they agreed a repair under guarantee would be needed. Fair enough I thought.I took it to my local Argos in Swindon and they refused to take it back saying it had to go via Canon only and they would not take it. They would not accept my bank receipt as proof of purchase either (I checked and it says this is acceptable on the Argos website). I said this was a legal document for proof of purchase but they said get hold of your legal people then! Poor customer service by Argos. For the next 3 weeks I emailed Canon support and they had trouble with my proof of purchase ( I had now found the email receipt from Argos). Very slow responses by email and first problem was a PDF copy of the receipt was too big for them to read, then I sent a JPG copy and then that was too small to read. They asked if I could make a copy in between the 2 sizes! I then emailed the original receipt of purchase but this was not accepted either as their system could not cope. After 3 weeks and complaints they put me in touch with their repair centre and the printer went by post to them. It was repaired and had a new print head fitted. After 4 weeks I have the printer back and working. What a frustrating exercise and time waste to get a faulty printer fixed by Canon when bought via Argos with hurdles to jump through and delays.
