Today hasn't gone well ! Yes I was £24 overdrawn which i had to correct by the 28th .I cleared it and needed to report my lost card ,which I did in the app .after phoning ,it was then telling me to do in ap, then app told me to phone for a new card 🙃
I finally get through! Unfortunately poor communication and a man of none British, proceeded to rant at me ,that a new card had been issued on the 10th ,so when I said OK sorry ,yes that's great. He then said well I have cancelled it madam ! I said oh ,I said so you haven't cancelled my original card? He said yes .he then said madam you need to listen to me ...honestly it was not easy .I stated that even though he was calling me madam ,essentially, he was being condescending ! Which i found rude. He basically was telling me off ! Commenting that I would have to call back in two days to order a 3rd card ! I couldn't order one today as I was £24 over agreed limit ,so he orderd that I had to call back in 2 days when credit was showing even though he then told me he could see i had paid and what amount ! He then stated he had cancelled both cards ,even though he contradicted himself and me when I said it hadn't arrived ,he snapped and said madam ,it takes 10 to 14 days to arrive ! So I said OK. But then he still just cancelled the one still on its way ! My address and details were correct .
I told him I wasn't happy with the conversation, I was ending it as I found him deliberately talking at me ,not concerned with my questions and instead talking to me condescending. So I said good day and hung up.
Honestly ,I don't phone to be talked at ,to be ranted at at speed and it is an unfortunate reality that they get impatient because of language skills .now I can't speak other languages ,but I do know my own ,I never asked to speak to someone with poor grasp of my language .I am a customer and I expect a level of customer care .not an aggravated male .if you have ever had abuse, as a woman ,this ,is Very triggering ! I'm sorry , but I'm not happy with capital one .why does every phone centre now have to be abroad ? Doesn't it make sense to put certain call handlers with certain demographics ? Sorry if this seems off of me ,but I'm the one who had no recourse with this and now I feel unable to phone in 2 days ! I struggle to do phone calls for these exact reasons! If you call someone sir or madam ,does not disguise or take away the rudeness or negative content of the situation or conversation !
