I’m very satisfied with Capital One. My credit card application was approved quickly and the whole process was very smooth. The card arrived fast and everything was handled efficiently from start to finish.
It was completely stress-free and straightforward. I’m really happy with the service so far and would definitely recommend.

Been with capital one since 1998, not long since they started in UK. The level of customer service is now so poor that you cannot speak to or communicate by email with anyone in the UK. If you call them you are put thru to a call centre in Mumbai, 5,500 miles away. I don't want to discuss my personal finances with someone who is an agent, not an employee. I complained and they offered me £75. I don't want their money as its customers money, I just want decent service. I have voted with my feet, my balance is always zero at end of month so closed my account today.. after 28 yrs...
Card always declining, over small or big payments. Leaving me in vulnerable situations of discomfort and embarrassment. Also leaving me to not trust the card and rely on other banking cards
They ruin your credit score
I received a notification to increase my credit limit it stated it was a soft search so I continued. Then anincrease turned into an application for a new card at a much higher interest rate so I closed the application.
3 days later ClearScore notified me a hard search I spoke to capital one they closed the application for a new card apologised but they cannot take away the hard search so don’t trust them.
Wow - spectacularly bad! I mean seriously ridiculous that no-one's actually tried the system at their inept end as a customer experience test.
Had a letter today telling me to call these jokers because someone tried to apply for a credit card in my name ..... again. That alone should tell you something - the con artists obviously feel confident enough to have a bash at Capital One.
"Call us on the helpline number at capitalone.co.uk" the letter says. Ok - call the number then all you get is "download the app" everywhere (I mean EVERYWHERE) on the site "download the app" like a record on repeat. There is absolutely no chance you'll speak to a human here.
Clearly I'd never have a Capital One card now under any circumstances having seen how impossible it is to get to speak to a being who passes for a human.
Note to the chumpman who no doubt gets millions in annual bonuses for "running" this show:

I am extremely frustrated with this service! In mid-November, I learned that I had fallen victim to identity theft after a fraudulent application and hard search showed up on my credit report. I was explicitly informed that the application was not legitimate and that a marker would be placed on my name to block any further applications. Despite this assurance, another hard search appeared on December 19. I raised this issue again and was told that a marker would be applied once more. Then, on December 30, yet another hard search was recorded on my credit report. I have an active protective registration and a notice of correction with all credit agencies, yet fraudulent applications continue to be processed. Nobody can explain why the protective marker is being disregarded, what checks are being done, or how fraudsters are still using my information. My complaint has supposedly been forwarded to the customer service team, but I have received no communication whatsoever. I spend hours each day on the phone, repeatedly providing the same information, only to be told “no further applications will be processed” — only for it to happen again. To make matters worse, I received emails today from a financial institution confirming that the latest applications are fraudulent, followed shortly by a message from the credit agency stating that they will not remove the hard searches as they do not consider them fraudulent. This is completely contradictory and incredibly distressing. Meanwhile, my credit score is being ruined through no fault of my own. No one takes responsibility, no one follows up, and no one provides answers. I am simply told that “a complaint will be raised” — and then nothing happens. I am sharing this publicly in the hope that someone finally pays attention, as the lack of protection, accountability, and communication has been appalling.
During my son's graduation 🎓 at the university, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the photo services available. I needed to use my card, and I was thrilled to capture a beautiful picture of my son. The assistance I received on two occasions with my card was incredibly helpful, especially considering my finances during this time of year. I'm truly grateful for the support and would rate it 5 stars.
I had an unsatisfactory experience as I did not receive any notification about my payment due date. When I checked my account, I found a late payment fee charged, and this month, the minimum payment amount had also increased. As soon as I can, I plan to pay off this card and switch to a different provider.
