I used a popular comparison website to search for the best deals for car hire in Turkey for a weekend trip 13-16 June 2025. A few other companies topped Opodo on price but I went with Opodo as I believed them to be a trusted, well established company. How wrong I was. They used Right Cars to fulfil my order (I've done a review about them too), who essentially scammed me out of 900 Euros. On 21 July 2025 (after allowing ample time for the refund), I approached Opodo for assistance with this, since my contract is with them, but received absolutely none. Initially, it's extremely difficult to contact this company but when you do, expect nothing. I was told that this wasn't their problem, they won't be investigating and that it's down to me to try to get my money back from Right Cars. I pointed out that they should not be using Right Cars who I have subsequently learned from other reviews, perform the same scam on lots of people (credit card doesn't work, conveniently so they say they'll take 900 Euros from a debit card) and they should want to investigate their partner companies who are scamming people out of large sums of money. I believe that Opodo should refund my money and then they should try to recover it from Right Cars. When I said that I wanted to escalate this issue and make a complaint, the "customer service" rep hung up on me!
