Due to flight cancellations and rerouting caused by the war in Iran I had to modify my rental dates of a booking with free cancellation. After the modification my new flight turned out to get in too late to be able to get the car before closure of the specific rental office at Schiphol airport (10 pm). I called CarJet, they said: I couldn’t modify nor cancel the booking anymore, had to pay the full price without being able to pick up the car. How did a free cancellation car rental turn into a non-modification booking? How could I not pick up the car upon opening up of the rental car office the following morning? That’s not just a scam. That’s intentionally harming clients while we suffer through upheavals caused by the war in Iran, which is the reason in the first place that flights get canceled and rerouted.
