We moved into our new build nearly 4 years ago and part of the build was we upgraded (loose term) our kitchen to include a Carron Seraphina Hot Tap. Worst thing we ever did and complete waste of money. Filters are supposed to last/be replaced arguably at 6 months. We live in a very soft water area and we are lucky if we get 2 weeks out of a filter before water is coming out of the tap at andribble. Get no joy from manufacturer who say it’s our water issue. We now hear an air sound from the system pretty much all the time and if we have the shut off fully open we can hear the water going down the inbuilt overflow (I think it is). To make the tap economically viable (new filters are in excess of £40 each) we have 2 filters that we rotate every 2 weeks or so. Once removed filter is fully dry it tends to work a bit for that 2 weeks period then needs changed. All that has been offered is the chance to purchase a more free flowing filter that is available via manufacturer but again expensive. No offer of maybe one to try and see if it works better with our layout. To compound matters when I go to replace the filter now and have switched everything off and closed off the water inlet, water still comes out where the filter sits so I have to be super quick to avoid water all over the place. We have contacted manufacturer countless times and have had no joy whatsoever really.

Carron Phoenix is best known for its sink manufacturing these days but we can trace our roots back to 1759 when The Carron Company was founded as an iron foundry in Falkirk.
