I worked there from 11/24 to 03/26, a real eye opening life experience.
I was a valeter, not even paid minimal wage but I enjoyed what I did and took pride in my work being a older gentleman with old school values.
I made the mistake of purchasing a van from Cars4you, and thought as I worked there it should be straightforward (how wrong I was).
With 16 days the clutch started to slip, so reported to branch manager thinking I work closely with him it should be fixed in a timely manner (but no).
No courtesy vehicle offered as they knew I had a car but still had to make my own way home, after 3 week of being messed around handed in my notice.
No company refuse to pay me my last month's wage, van is parked in dead car corner at branch. This is all because I'm moving on to something different, but while working as a valeter they treat you like a scrubber. I'm a nearly 51 widow who's brought up 3 children and worked in some very stressful management roles, but they work in like a army rank system where sales staff are gods 😆.
Still praise ACAS, HMRC and trading standards. I will cost them more then I'm owed, they won't be keeping money for my hard work.
