They require people to have safe outdoor spaces most of the time (even though there are many studies that prove that letting a cat outdoors is dangerous for both the cat, local ecosystem and people who could crash cars while trying to avoid running over the cat). In the rare occasions where they rehome cats for indoor they DEMAND people to have at least two bedroom apartments so the cat can have one for themselves while they get used to the new home. So they effectively gatekeep adoptions for people below a certain income threshold. When I enquired about it they denied the accusation and kept me on the phone for 35 minutes saying what I already knew and blaming the "competition" for me not being able to get a cat after months of trying. Ridiculous.
