In March of 2018 we purchased $36,000 worth of doors and windows for our house. All exterior doors and windows were with a guaranteed and it was transferable based our contract. In March 2019, we had Champion out to repair a poorly installed bay window. They came with in a reasonable time and fixed the window. In February of 2020, we called again because the storm door on the back of the house was pulled off in a storm. We also had some screens that needed to be repaired. We waited, called several times, used the forms on the website. Sent pictures and yet no contact. We were patient because of the pandemic. We understood. We called again in February of 2021, we had a date for them to come out to fix things or to look over the job. The young man arrived with out a mask, a contract, or a tape measure which I had in front of me and provided to him. He said he would go write up an order for a new door and that when they came back to install it he would fix the screens at that time. Well, a week later we get a call from a woman in Macon telling us that our storm door wasn't apart of our warranty. We called back to ask how much a new door would cost, she said she would get back to us. I week later we call her back and ask for the price. She finally called back with a price of $635 for the door and $800 additional dollars for a warranty. We already paid for a warranty based on my reading of our contract. They say it doesn't apply. The woman then said that the man who came to our house never said anything about screens. I am so angry that we waited a year for them to come out, that they forgot everything we asked for, that they are charging us for something we already paid for and that they have behaved like we are doing them a favor by doing business with them. We were a multi-generational Champion family but we recommend that everyone run as fast as you can away from them. They are not as billed. They do NOT honor their contracts and they make you wait over a year for service. I am infuriated by how they have treated us. I am currently waiting for a manager to call me back but I am not holding out hope for that either. We made an investment and have expectations.
