My husband and I just got back from a lovely stay at Champneys Springs. The place absolutely stunning. Great customer service from staff members. Big shout out to Catrina, Massimo ( at the restaurant) They made us feel so welcome and we enjoyed chatting with them., And Rob at the check in desk. Rob is such an incredible friendly and helpful guy.
I only gave a 4* as we were disappointed that the lunch buffet served the same meals for the 4 days we there. We hoped for atleast something new . Also, I think the rooms are due for an upgrade. Especially the carpets .
We had 3 days of spa treatments, and omg, absolutely recommended!! All in all, we will be returning for sure!
I visited Champneys Tring recently and was very disappointed. For a “luxury” spa costing £176 per person, the experience fell far below expectations.
Cleanliness was poor, including dirty floors and black mould on the ceilings in the day guest shower room.
Service throughout the day was substandard: no drinks offered at lunch, extremely slow café service, no clean tables or plates in the breakfast room (I had to clear my own), and no explanation of facilities on arrival. Lunch seating was next to a curtain concealing a pile of napkins and a dirty side table, which felt unprofessional.
The spa facilities also appeared tired and poorly maintained, with cracked tiles, peeling paint, and visible rust in the sauna area.
I raised these concerns with Champneys customer services. They offered money off a future visit, which I felt was unacceptable, and have not responded further.
Overall, this was poor value for money and I would not recommend Champneys Tring.
Stopped at the old hall buxton 25 Jan 2026.
Booked a double king-size bed for our anniversary and ended up with 2 single beds pushed together with a gap the size of the grand canyon with 2 single duvets. This room has never seen a king-size bed in it.
I submitted a complaint following my recent visit, yet I have not received any feedback. On January 4, 2025, I booked a day spa for my mother and me, including an express treatment, to help her unwind after a recent surgery. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing compared to our previous enjoyable visits. Upon arrival, we faced problems in the changing rooms, as several lockers did not function with the provided key fobs. The spa facilities were small and often unavailable. Relaxation beds were consistently occupied with towels and robes for extended periods, sometimes up to an hour, without guests returning. Although there were signs advising against this, staff did not seem to enforce it. Consequently, we had no suitable place to lie down and relax, and the only seating available was uncomfortable green deckchairs, which were particularly unsuitable for my mother given her recent surgery. This led us to leave earlier than planned. Many facilities were in poor condition. In the sauna, one of the small benches was positioned in front of the vent, causing the alarm to trigger when leaned back on. At lunchtime, several plates were visibly dirty. I brought this to the attention of a staff member, who seemed taken aback but took no action. Additionally, the dining area and salad section were untidy, making it hard to serve food hygienically. We both booked the “Express in the Clouds” treatment, which we felt did not offer good value for money and seemed more commercial than relaxing. Overall, we were extremely let down by our spa day and felt it did not meet the standards we had previously experienced. I would appreciate a response to this complaint and an explanation of how this experience aligns with the level of service the company aims to provide.
The website is quite challenging to navigate. I attempted to book a massage, but an unwanted day spa option kept appearing in my cart. Additionally, my gift voucher code was not recognized, preventing me from completing the purchase. I called customer service but couldn't connect for assistance. Eventually, I drove to a nearby location and successfully booked my appointment using the voucher without any issues. After discussing with family, I learned they also faced difficulties with the website, which seems to be a common problem based on other reviews. It's puzzling how the business remains functional if the only way to book is on-site. However, my experience at the location was positive, and I enjoyed a professional massage service.
Purchased a £100 gift voucher that was never delivered, despite several emails and phone calls. The in-store staff offered no assistance. I feel scammed out of £100, and it has ruined a gift intended for the upcoming sale, which is now ending. I'm very disappointed and will not be using this service again.
What a frustrating experience I had while trying to buy a gift card online. I couldn't even log in. I attempted to reset my password multiple times, but it wouldn't let me request a reset link. Eventually, I managed to reset it, but even though the new password met the requirements and I received confirmation, I still couldn't log in. After wasting too much time, I ended up creating a new account with my work email. Then, I faced issues adding the delivery details for the voucher and had to re-enter the billing address several times. I just wanted to buy a voucher! It should be straightforward! I can't believe how difficult they made it to complete a purchase. A new website team is definitely needed!
I am extremely dissatisfied after reserving an evening at the spa, only to face delays due to an accident. I spent 30 minutes searching for parking until finally finding a spot. The meal took two hours, and I couldn't access the spa facilities I had paid for. When I tried to explain my situation, I was met with a dismissive attitude, even though I was willing to pay for extra time.
I was very disappointed after booking an evening spa. I was delayed due to an accident and spent 30 minutes searching for parking until someone finally moved. The customer service was appalling. Once you've paid, forget about receiving any assistance; it's non-existent. Based on other reviews, this seems to be the standard behavior that the current management supports. My advice is to take your business elsewhere; the service could only improve.
