Spectrum Specialist David kept telling me they have no hidden fees, like other cell phone companies. I had not called regarding cell phone service, I had called on TV service. I was very interested in what he was telling me regarding the cell phone service, but I asked him about what I originally called on;Spectrum Lifestyle TV and Internet for 74.98 a month for 12 months. Well after an hour and a half, he says my monthly bill would be 84.99 a month, I said no it says 74.98 a month for 12 months right here in the letter I received. He says well there's a 4.99 DVR monthly charge and the rest is taxes. I asked how much are the taxes? He put me on hold for a while; came back and said well there is the 4.99 DVR charge and 11.99 Broadcast fee a month, really no hidden fees at Spectrum and these two charges added to the 74.98 do not equal 84.99. So I ask to speak to a supervisor, I get Ashley and she doesn't care at all that the letter says 74.98 she says it is what it is and you don't have to accept it, contact the Better Business Bureau if you have a complaint. I asked for a Manager, she told me there is no Manager available and just contact BBB. I again asked for a Manager, she finally transferred me to Greg. Who I explained everything all over again. He says well with taxes you are looking at 103.13 a month for the service. You have got to be kidding me, for a plan that is advertised as 74.98 a month? This is outrageous and someone needs to stop it. They should be made to honor the prices they are advertising, not be alllowed to add another 30 dollars a month to your bill for something that is supposed to be a wonderful deal for being such a great customer! Edited: According to the BBB the company responded to my complaint by going over the charges with me and that the charges are correct 103.13 for Internet and Lifestyle TV for 12 months, not the advertised 74.98. I did not accept their solution, they offered service for 74.98 and that's what they need to provide, I will pay additional taxes for the service but I will not add broadcast charges that should already be included in their package deal. I pay nothing for the service I have now, why would I want to pay them additional fees for one extra channel then what I am getting now? There is nothing in their advertisment that explains why they charge additional broadcasting fees and if I pay nothing now, why would I go with a company that wants to charge me a 74.98 fee plus all these other fees. Stop lying to the public!
