I would rather not give any stars, but this option isn't available. I've been waiting since December 2023 for what should be a straightforward application. I had to appeal to the government inspectorate because this council failed to present a case for their objections. They have wasted everyone's time and resources pursuing a personal vendetta against me, with taxpayer money at stake. At no point did they attempt to communicate with me. The planning system used to function well 20 years ago, allowing for direct discussions with a planning officer. Now, most work from home, which leads to inefficiencies. This council reeks of corruption; if you fit their criteria, your application is prioritized, otherwise you face endless delays. I have examples of council properties receiving quick approvals while I wait. With 44 officers on staff, there are no excuses for these delays. I'm currently seeking compensation for unreasonable behavior, as noted by the government planning inspector. I urge you to voice your concerns about this underperforming planning authority. The current government claims to want to make housing development easier, but it's all a joke, much like this council. I suggest requiring planners to work in the office five days a week to actually get things done.
