It’s been a few years since I travelled with CR and it seems that the Arriva effect has really worked its magic. You can polish a you-know-what but it’s still a you-know-what. An incredibly bumpy, uncomfortable journey in an old but refurbished Class 168 from Marylebone to Brum last night, it could almost make you queasy. To be fair, we were on time but it was a short-formed train and hadn’t been cleaned before commencing its journey. A real deterioration from its former glory days.
