Stay far away from ClarityCheck. This company operates using what can only be described as "dark patterns" and predatory business practices.
They lure you in with the promise of a cheap, one-time service (often advertised as a $0.50 or $1.00 "trial" or a single report). However, buried in the fine print is a hidden, high-cost recurring subscription. Without any clear notification or a secondary authorization step, they began charging my credit card $29.99 USD monthly.
The major issues with this company are:
• Deceptive Advertising: They present themselves as a one-off search tool but are actually a subscription trap.
• Unauthorized Charges: Taking money from a customer’s card without explicit, clear consent for a recurring plan is a breach of basic consumer rights.
• Impossible to Cancel: Their "customer support" is essentially a loop of automated AI responses or "dead-end" emails designed to exhaust you so you give up on your refund.
• Disregard for Consumer Law: They appear to ignore the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines and the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (ROSCA) regarding clear disclosure and easy cancellation.
I have already lodged formal complaints with the FTC, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and my bank’s fraud department. If you have been charged, do not waste time talking to their "support"—call your bank immediately, lock your card, and initiate a chargeback for unauthorized billing.
