I switched from Dojo to Clear Business Company believing their service would be superior. I was catastrophically wrong.
1. Payment delays: Dojo deposits money the next day, no matter weekends or bank holidays. Clear holds payments hostage—Friday through Sunday, nothing. Monday bank holiday? Finally, a lump sum. This is unacceptable for any business that operates daily.
2. Dashboard limitations: Transactions are not visible in real-time. If I am away, I have no way to verify payments until 24 hours later. This is inefficient and completely impractical for running a business.
3. Weekend statements are misleading: Friday, Saturday, Sunday totals are lumped together. Daily breakdowns are invisible, creating confusion and effectively hiding income from the business.
4. Card machine cutoff at 10 PM: My shop is 24/7. The last two hours of income each day are unrecorded. This is a blatant failure of a “business-grade” system.
5. Cancellation extortion: I have two machines, one never even activated. They demand £1,200 per machine to cancel. This is outrageous and completely unjustified. These issues are entirely their fault.
Resolution demanded: Both machines must be cancelled immediately, without any fees. I will not pay for their failures, their poor design, or their misleading claims.
Clear promised “better than Dojo.” It is not. Their service is inferior, their systems flawed, and their policies exploitative. I strongly advise any business to avoid this company entirely.
