I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Clear Business during what has already been a very difficult time for my family.
A close family member passed away, and I have been responsible for sorting out his affairs. Just a few days after his death, I contacted the company to cancel his phone line, yet they failed to action this request and continued charging him for three months afterward. Similarly, I asked for his electricity account to be closed, but they continued billing for a further two months.
Despite repeatedly informing them of his death and explaining that I am waiting for the Grant of Probate before settling any outstanding matters, they have continued to send emails and letters demanding payment and even threatening further action to recover the alleged debt via a debt collection agency. This approach feels both intimidating and completely lacking in sensitivity.
I have submitted three formal complaints regarding their handling of this situation, particularly their thoughtless and aggressive communication. However, nothing seems to have improved. Even today—after at least eight separate interactions via phone and email—I have received yet another bill charging my deceased brother for an additional month of electricity and phone services, despite the business having ceased trading over three months ago.
I am still awaiting a correct and final invoice that accurately reflects the closure of both accounts.
This experience has added unnecessary stress during an already painful time. I would strongly urge the company to review its processes for handling bereavement cases and to treat customers with far more compassion and competence.
