Lack of Inspection: Staff did not walk us around the car. Instead, we were told to take our own photos. The vehicle was covered in significant scuffs, dings, and even a windscreen chip, making it difficult to document every single flaw.
Empty Damage Reports: I later discovered their digital records showed zero damage for the car. I assumed this was a clerical error—it wasn't.
The Return Trap: Upon return, the inspector immediately flagged significant marks as if they were new. While our photos cleared us of the major dents, we missed a tiny (<5mm) cut on the underside of a wing mirror. They charged us for this immediately.
When we questioned why they had no record of the existing major damage, we were told it was our responsibility to maintain the record, not theirs. When we pointed out that this allows them to potentially charge multiple customers for the same pre-existing damage, the staff member threatened to charge us for every mark on the car.
We opted to let our third-party insurance handle the claim rather than continue the argument. If you use them: Do not leave the lot until every single scratch is noted on their digital system, regardless of what the staff tells you.
