I bought a VPS in November, which was confusing due to the requirement to deposit a certain amount to unlock certain server tiers. This wasn't clearly communicated in the interface, and others had similar concerns. My VPS was given a recently recycled IP address that had been flagged for spam just days before. Even though I don’t use email services, the poor reputation of the IP caused issues with third-party OAuth logins (like Patreon), leading to timeouts and a negative experience for my customers, which forced me to switch to another VPS provider shortly after. It’s crucial to verify IP addresses against multiple reputation and spam databases before reissuing them. The IP I received was still listed as problematic less than two weeks before it was assigned. Overall, this led to a disappointing initial experience. I’ll give one star for prompt customer service responses, even though the overall experience was lacking.
