I acquired a VPS in November, but it was perplexing due to the requirement of a deposit to unlock certain server tiers. This wasn't clearly outlined in the interface, and I noticed others mentioning the same concern. My VPS was assigned a recently recycled IP address that had been used by a spammer just days prior. Although I don't utilize email services, the poor reputation of the IP led to throttling of third-party OAuth logins (like Patreon), resulting in timeouts and a frustrating experience for my customers, which forced me to switch to a different VPS provider shortly after. It's essential to verify IP addresses against multiple reputation and spam databases before reissuing them. The IP I received was still flagged in two databases less than two weeks prior to my assignment. Overall, this resulted in a disappointing first-time experience. I will give one extra star for the prompt responses from customer service, even though the overall experience was lacking.
