After returning an item purchased online at JJill, using my JJill credit card, I called to be sure the item had been received. It was then I learned their card was through Comenity Bank. It was some time before I actually received a call from a representative who assured me my item had been received on or before the closing date of December 19. However, a few days later I received a past due notice with a huge late fee (more than the cost of the item!). Rather than battle with the criminal institution, I sent a check for the amount on the statement. However, THAT check has not cleared, leading me to believe they're going to try to continue their extortion for another month. The SEC should be investigating this sleazy operation. EVERYBODY. Stay away from Comenity!
