I visited a bakery in town with friends during lunchtime. There was no one in line ahead of us. One friend ordered a latte and mentioned her vegan preference, only to be told there were no vegan choices. However, we later saw a roll labeled as vegan, which was confusing. The limited selection was surprising for lunchtime; the counter was nearly empty, offering just a cookie, a few cheese scones, a couple of blondies, one vegan baguette, and a few other baguettes. No bread at all. While we browsed the scant cake options, the staff member at the counter abruptly asked, “Are you going to order?” This felt rude and unnecessary, especially with no queue and limited choices. I eventually ordered coffee and cake, which arrived quickly. To be fair, the server who brought the coffee was friendly, as was the person clearing tables. However, the café was quite cold, and the coffee was lukewarm and unremarkable. I didn’t feel comfortable returning to the counter after the earlier interaction. Given they were open until 4pm and it was still early, I was disappointed by the lack of options. Overall, due to the limited food and the rude service, it’s not a place my friends and I would revisit or recommend.
