Review Time
During my nearly seven years at the company, my experience was not a good one. I ultimately had to resign; there were times when I was the only one who showed up for work. I never missed a day, but I remained at a low pay level for years. Despite constant changes in management, I focused on prioritizing our clients. When I reported some concerning behavior of a new manager to higher-ups, I was completely ignored. Management seemed more interested in covering things up than correcting any issues. I faced retaliation, including having my hours cut twice, while being asked to take on extra responsibilities in a shorter time frame. My position was taken away without any explanation, and I felt scrutinized and talked about. Eventually, the new manager threatened to write me up, and the next day I was presented with a write-up that I refused to sign, as I had never been written up before. At that point, I realized I had tolerated enough and decided to leave before this manager could further damage my work history or reputation.
I have yet to work with this company, but I have had several job applications pending since mid-August 2025. It's now late December 2025, and while they occasionally check in to see if I'm still interested, I often receive no follow-up. I find it hard to believe they can attract quality staff with such a disorganized approach from management.
For my own safety and to document issues, I felt compelled to write this review. As an employee here, I reached out to a manager for information, but my requests were ignored. When I finally contacted the HR department, I was told to communicate with the company while the HR manager distanced themselves from the situation. I faced numerous violations of safety protocols and witnessed poor food handling practices, which I reported. However, my complaints were dismissed. The work environment was unhealthy, and I was concerned about the treatment of staff and food safety. I will be reporting these issues to higher authorities.
This cafe, once a pleasant spot, has been ruined after a takeover. The decor is nice, but the food quality has declined, prices have increased, and the portions are smaller. The coffee machines often malfunction, and while the staff is friendly, the food is disappointing. Many regulars now only come for drinks.
My younger sibling had a disappointing experience working here. Supervisors made unlawful threats regarding wages, and management ignored employees' concerns. Young workers were not provided with written contracts or clear rights information, leading to vulnerability in treatment and pay. The company seems professional but lacks accountability in staff management. I urge younger workers to be cautious before accepting a position.
The workplace here is toxic, with management failing to support staff. They often criticize employees while enjoying their own comfort, leaving underpaid workers to struggle. Management's behavior is unprofessional, and they fail to address the issues faced by staff.
The management is failing significantly. Staff are not compensated correctly, and any attempts to address this are ignored. Gossip and complaints about others take precedence over resolving actual issues. The lack of accountability creates a toxic work environment, and I would not recommend working here until substantial changes are made. I was hired for one role but expected to take on additional responsibilities without proper recognition or pay.
