My experience with Contiki on the Ultimate Philippines Island Hopping tour was extremely disappointing and far below what was advertised.Accommodation standards were poor throughout. One room had visible mould on the headboard, which raised hygiene concerns, and at another stop my room was directly above a live music venue. Loud music continued late into the evening, making it very difficult to sleep. This was never disclosed in advance and had a real impact on the trip.Safety was a serious issue. Driving standards throughout the tour were consistently poor, with drivers frequently overtaking in the opposite lane, including on blind corners, and using the horn aggressively to force pedestrians out of the way. This behaviour felt unsafe and caused me to feel physically sick during transfers.Organisation and communication were also very poor. Transfers involved long waits with little explanation, and one journey to Boracay took around 13 hours on Christmas Day despite being presented as a much shorter transfer. Information was unclear or missing at key points.Most disappointing of all was how Contiki handled complaints. I raised concerns early on using the contact details they provided, but was ignored for weeks. Even now, I have still not received a proper final response or any meaningful resolution. The lack of communication and accountability has been extremely frustrating.Sadly, this trip did not meet the standard promised, and the poor handling of accommodation, safety, and complaints has completely undermined my confidence in the company. I would think very carefully before booking.
