A ClassUp representative, Doreen called me multiple times and followed up with texts to schedule a trial class for my elementary school child. The teacher was amazing during the trial class. Customer representative Doreen joined us at the end to guide us through the registration and membership process. While showing me PowerPoint slides, I was shocked to see a picture of my child and asked Doreen why it was included in her slide. She explained that they record each session and used his picture to demonstrate the program. I was upset and felt my trust had been broken, as this had not been discussed or consented to beforehand. Doreen downplayed the issue, stating it was common practice to take children's pictures. However, I believe it's essential to discuss and obtain parental consent for online courses, especially for younger children. It's unacceptable that the representative failed to mention recording and taking pictures before the trial class, despite thoroughly explaining the membership costs and following up with me. This lack of transparency is bizarre and concerning. It's obvious they only care about the money but not really child's safety. I do not recommend this.
