The issue lies in their wording regarding ‘verification of payment method.’ You might think it’s just a way to confirm your payment details, but they charge $80 for it without providing anything in return. It’s unclear that this will cost you until after the fact. When I requested a refund, they claimed it was a financial contribution and thus non-refundable. Your membership is also considered a financial contribution, meaning if they continue to bill you automatically, you have no recourse if you decide you are unhappy with the service. This practice feels predatory. If this happens to you, please file an official complaint with the appropriate authorities.
