Filed a Purchase Security insurance claim (Claim No. 4105982) through Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc., Mississauga office, for a new item purchased on my Wealthsimple Visa Infinite Privilege credit card. The item was accidentally lost 4 days after delivery. I filed a police report, submitted every document requested including invoice, order summary, credit card statement, serial number photo, and a detailed written explanation. Crawford Canada denied my claim citing "mysterious disappearance" and "lack of due diligence." Crawford's own denial letter describes the full sequence of how the loss happened, then calls it "unexplained." The policy covers "loss" and promises not to "unreasonably apply" the due diligence clause. I have submitted a formal appeal and am awaiting a response. I have also filed complaints with the BBB, FCAC, and the Nova Scotia Superintendent of Insurance.
Hoping for a fair resolution but my experience so far has been deeply disappointing.
