I used Creation Consumer Finance to fund a desktop computer which became defective and unusable.
I made a Section 75 claim. It was rejected, and I was told to deal with the manufacturer instead, which is not how Section 75 liability is supposed to work.
I was left with no realistic option but to replace the computer myself at a cost of £649.
What is particularly concerning is that, rather than resolving a straightforward claim of this value, the company chose to escalate the matter into court proceedings and instruct external solicitors. It is hard to understand why a £649 consumer dispute was defended in this way instead of being properly addressed.
I have now obtained judgment after the Defendant failed to respond in time, and recovery remains ongoing. However, they are wasting more ££ on applying to have a properly obtained judgment set-aside.
From my experience, the approach taken has been unnecessarily adversarial and disproportionate for what should have been a simple consumer issue.
Anyone considering using this company should think twice!!
