What Happened to Cuisinart…

I'm not sure what has happened to Cuisinart(Conair) as we used to have great service and reliable appliances. Two out of the last three Cuisinart products we bought were great. But our latest encounter was enough for us to steer clear of them in future. On November 29th I placed an order for a food processor with Cuisinart, and received a confirmation of the order by email. On December 3rd I called and after multiple attempts at a callback (I tried holding but I had to push 2 on the phone every 30 seconds or they hung up) I asked about the status of the order. To my amazement the support person apologized, the unit was out of stock, the computer must have glitched (as a retired IT manager I know if a system didn't update their data immediately when they were sold out, someone should be fired). Her suggestion was to give me the unit number and I could Google it to find out if any other retailer sold it. Of course I had ordered a Black Friday special and by Dec 3rd all sellers were back to the 'regular' price. After my initial order I searched for a manual, and a link to Amazon came up with a Cyber Monday special- at $80 less than Cuisinart - if I had know this on Nov 29th I could have ordered from them.Regardless, I told the support person their suggestion to google other sellers was unacceptable, I wanted a better unit with the same discounts. So they offered an anniversary model (which was priced $10 more) at the same price, which I agreed to.It then took until December 8th before it was shipped, by mail! Delivery is expected December 15th, but the postal service may pull their favourite trick (leave a note saying we had to go to a postal unit the next day to pick it up - which happens 4 out of 5 times). UPDATE: As I suspected Canada Post used their pony express service, so today, Dec 16th, I get a notice to pick it up at a depot. In other words, it wasn't delivered. If only I had gone to Amazon first I would have had the unit I wanted on Dec. 3rd for $80 less.My recommendation is to avoid buying Cuisinart, but if you must, never order if directly from Cuisinart, they literally have NO customer service.
