I’ve been part of this program for some time, and while it offers great opportunities, I’ve also been through some very difficult and at times scary experiences. For a long time, I felt like I was navigating situations on my own without the level of support I truly needed. Looking back, I strongly believe that some of these challenges and even rematches could have been avoided with more active involvement and guidance early on.
Everything changed when I began working with my current LCC, Kassi. She genuinely listens, steps in when needed, and understands that speaking up to host families on your own can be intimidating. Her support made me feel heard, protected, and guided rather than alone. Having an LCC like her from the beginning would have made a huge difference in my experience.
