**PLEASE READ** In January 2025, I sought out Custom Design Genius to design a logo for my business, and paid $119 for a logo package. They made a basic logo that didn't stand out at all. Days after that, they convinced me into paying an additional $750 for what they called “statewide coverage.” I should have recognize that as the first red flag — so I take full responsibility for that portion by not walking away sooner. After paying the $750, they gave me what looked like a copyright certificate, claiming it gave me ownership of the logo. At first, I thought it was legitimate, until I did my own research. There’s no copyright registration number, and no affiliation with the U.S. Copyright Office. Multiple sources confirmed that this is a fake certificate, created to look official but has no legal value whatsoever. Just another layer of their scam.A few days after paying the state coverage, they tried to sell me on nationwide coverage for another $550. I explicitly refused. They took the money anyway, without consent. When I demanded a refund, they strung me along with false promises of a refund for a couple of weeks. I finally had enough and filed a claimThen in April, I received a text message from someone claiming to be an attorney with a California number, threatening me with a $250,000 lawsuit because I'm illegally using the logo. That same day, I got an email from Sean Anderson, an unprofessional, condescending “representative” of Custom Design Genius, telling me that unless I paid $5,000, I wouldn’t legally own my logo or business name (even though I was the one who created my business name), and he can't protect me if a lawsuit was to occur. When I told him I refuse to pay, he laughed at me and said, “You should’ve known this would be an expensive process.”Less than 24 hours after that conversation, they stole $5,000 from my account, despite me saying I will not do any more business with them. Sean followed up with an email saying this was done as a favor. And told me that my logo and business name had been registered with the USPTO — another lie. I checked the USPTO database, and there is no pending application or registration under my name, logo, or business.I made sure to keep records of everything, from emails, text messages, and screen shots from their website. After months of stress, my bank finally ruled in my favor, and I recovered the full $5,550 Custom Design Genius stole from me. And I found someone on Fiverr to create a new logo. As of 8/4/2025 Custom Design Genius continues to harass me with emails threatening lawsuits unless I pay back the $5000 or stop using the business name and logo. Custom Design Genius is not a real agency, they are a den of thieves that weaponizes fear, false documents, and unauthorized charges to exploit small business owners. Their pricing is deceptive, and their practices are unethical. AVIOD THEM AT ALL COST!!
