SCAM ALERT! Paid for an artwork design more than a year ago and just received an email from Gary Rogers - Head of Legal Affairs stating that that have received formal notification from the "State Office" that the rights associate with my design have expired and that my design is currently in use without federal permission. So, I can pay I can continue to use the design I paid $150 for and additional $499 - OR - I can request a formal closure letter to withdrawal the registration from "federal records" and cease any further claim to the mark. And I can do this for the low, low price of $499. TOTAL SCAM. They use words like State Office instead of US Patent Office, or Mark instead of Trademark, and Federal Records. TOTAL SCAM!
I am being SCAMMED after paying $35 for a simple logo a year ago. Here is an email in Sept 2025 trying to extort me: At the time of delivering your project, we submitted your logo and business name for federal examination as part of the standard compliance process for intellectual property protection. This was done to ensure you held exclusive rights to your brand and to prevent any unauthorized use in the future. However, the $999.00 payment associated with this process — which you previously agreed to — was later disputed from your side after the funds had been received. This dispute is on record and, combined with the pending federal file, places this matter in a legally sensitive state. As a licensed design agency, we are obligated to respond to the federal office to either:1. Complete the registration so your logo and business name are protected under federal law.2. Cease the utilization of the business name and artwork so we can officially remove your name from the claimant, closing the file and ensuring there are no legal sections, tax liabilities, penalties, renewal obligations, or compliance actions in the future. Please be aware that under U.S. trademark law, continued use of unregistered intellectual property that is under pending examination without settlement can lead to violations under:• 15 U.S.C. § 1114 – Trademark infringement.• 15 U.S.C. § 1125(a) – False designation of origin.• 15 U.S.C. § 1125(c) – Dilution of a trademark. If this matter remains unresolved, the federal authorities will recognize your name once the compliance records are updated. Without closure, the file remains active, and our evidence of your unfaithful withdrawal of the $999.00 payment further strengthens the case against you, leaving you liable for potential damages up to $75,000.00 plus legal fees.We are willing to settle this matter amicably without escalation if you contact us immediately to complete the pending action. Failure to respond will force us to proceed with formal legal filings.Kindly give me a call today so we can resolve this matter and avoid unnecessary consequences.Regards,Lucas Francis | Head of Legal affairsDirect Line: (929)Website:
Be cautious of some of the 5-star reviews on here, especially the recent ones. I believe some are constructed by Custom Design Genius themselves. Not only are they grammatically similar, but they seem to have a pattern of saying "the pricing is upfront with no hidden costs/charges." As if they're trying to discredit the real reviews that mention their unexpected charges and negative experiences. Do a Google search for more REAL reviews. Custom Design Genius is only good at one thing...Deception. I had a horrible experience with these people and paid for a package for a simple logo design. Only for them later to come back and say I can't own the logo and MY business name until I pay them an additional $1800!! Nowhere on their website does it mention that there will be an additional cost to get this service done! Not disclosing all the costs=bad business. My story goes on, but the point is I fell for their scam. Go to a real business if you want to get your logo done. Keep your distance from these people!!
I placed a package order for a logo design and cards, working with Gary. After the final design was approved, weeks went by without my product being delivered, when I contacted them Gary again tried to upsell me and then passed me off to someone Alex. When I finally received m cards they were not the final design and were missing my name and phone number, and the print is dull and blurry. So again I contacted them, and they tried to get another $150 from me to pay for the cards, admitting it was their error! I refused and they said I need to pay something for the reprint. I contacted my CC company to dispute the $150 charge they told me was for the cards. Then I went to Vistaprint, and ordered better cards for a portion of the price. Then weeks later I get a new batch of cards sent to me, same crappy quality but my name and phone were on them, so I ultimately had to pay the charge. The quality of the product is crap, much like heir customer service! One of the many emails .....Mon, Jul 28, 9:12 PMto meDear Maureen,Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused with the business cards not matching the approved design and for the printing quality issue. To correct this and proceed with a reprint and reshipment, the cost will be $150. This will cover the production and dispatch of the corrected cards with the proper layout and legible font. Please confirm if you'd like us to move forward with this so we can begin the reprint and initiate shipping immediately. We appreciate your patience and look forward to resolving this promptly. SCAM alert! They will tell you later you don’t own the logo and have to pay them to use it. They will continually harass you for more money. It’s all a scam. Their addresses on their website are fake addresses where you can pay to look like your business is in the US! They are from India and scammers! DO NOT BUY!
I found Custom Design Genius through a simple search, and their was easy to use. The service was professional, and I received my custom design exactly as requested no surprise on time. Definitely returning for future project. Thanks, Alex for your great support!
**PLEASE READ** In January 2025, I sought out Custom Design Genius to design a logo for my business, and paid $119 for a logo package. They made a basic logo that didn't stand out at all. Days after that, they convinced me into paying an additional $750 for what they called “statewide coverage.” I should have recognize that as the first red flag — so I take full responsibility for that portion by not walking away sooner. After paying the $750, they gave me what looked like a copyright certificate, claiming it gave me ownership of the logo. At first, I thought it was legitimate, until I did my own research. There’s no copyright registration number, and no affiliation with the U.S. Copyright Office. Multiple sources confirmed that this is a fake certificate, created to look official but has no legal value whatsoever. Just another layer of their scam.A few days after paying the state coverage, they tried to sell me on nationwide coverage for another $550. I explicitly refused. They took the money anyway, without consent. When I demanded a refund, they strung me along with false promises of a refund for a couple of weeks. I finally had enough and filed a claimThen in April, I received a text message from someone claiming to be an attorney with a California number, threatening me with a $250,000 lawsuit because I'm illegally using the logo. That same day, I got an email from Sean Anderson, an unprofessional, condescending “representative” of Custom Design Genius, telling me that unless I paid $5,000, I wouldn’t legally own my logo or business name (even though I was the one who created my business name), and he can't protect me if a lawsuit was to occur. When I told him I refuse to pay, he laughed at me and said, “You should’ve known this would be an expensive process.”Less than 24 hours after that conversation, they stole $5,000 from my account, despite me saying I will not do any more business with them. Sean followed up with an email saying this was done as a favor. And told me that my logo and business name had been registered with the USPTO — another lie. I checked the USPTO database, and there is no pending application or registration under my name, logo, or business.I made sure to keep records of everything, from emails, text messages, and screen shots from their website. After months of stress, my bank finally ruled in my favor, and I recovered the full $5,550 Custom Design Genius stole from me. And I found someone on Fiverr to create a new logo. As of 8/4/2025 Custom Design Genius continues to harass me with emails threatening lawsuits unless I pay back the $5000 or stop using the business name and logo. Custom Design Genius is not a real agency, they are a den of thieves that weaponizes fear, false documents, and unauthorized charges to exploit small business owners. Their pricing is deceptive, and their practices are unethical. AVIOD THEM AT ALL COST!!
these people are a scammer. I’ve been working with them since December 13 of 2024 gave them about $2000 and everything is wrong. I still don’t have what I pay for my things are out of compliance and I am a real estate agent. This company does not respond properly, but take your money out of your account without your permission state that they don’t store your bank card on file but yet still they solicit you for more products. I haven’t even finished the first. I will figure out a way to dispute all charges, even if it’s out of the timeframe and contact the lawyer. This has stressed me so bad and hurt my career. I cannot continue with this company. They are unfair and are scammers.
