Please don't buy from this company. We had our daughters birthday cake delivered two days late. I cant explain the level of upset and anxiety this caused us. We were informed via a message that the cake will be delivered within a time slot so I left to drop my daughter to school and was home well before scheduled time but the delivery guy decided to come earlier and yes he called but i missed the call but when I called him back he did not answer (which was only a few minute after). I called Cutters and Squidge and they gave me two options one was to pay £25 and have cake delivered on same day any time between 8am to 8pm (I needed cake for cake cutting with her friends, so the time slot was no good) so I asked if I could collect cake, but they used covid as a reason why I couldn't. The second option was to have free delivery next day, although this was pointless (no one wants a cake a day after their birthday) we agreed but were told it will get delivered 8am to 8pm and not to keep eye on the tracking link. We then had a message in the morning saying it will be delivered in evening before 8pm which I though was pretty unacceptable as the cake was already a day old. Based on my previous day experience I stayed home all day in case the driver came earlier but he came at 8.56pm (outside the specified slot, totally unacceptable delivering a 12 year olds birthday cake so late) in a non refrigerated car. When we complained the driver explained he cant answer our question as he is only a driver and he had been out on deliveries since 5am (in a non refrigerated car). Our cake was delivered finally at 8.56pm in quite a dry state, My daughter did not get to cut this cake as it was too late and it was useless to us, we asked customer service for a refund and they are refusing to give us a refund and have considered this matter close. Before ordering from them please check their reviews and think twice if the cake is for an event. We binned this cake as it had not been kept in a fridge and were worried about health and safety issues.I had another order placed for this Friday but have cancelled, they don't deliver in refrigerated cars causing all kinds of concerns around the food safety and are misleading with text message updates about the delivery times.We will be seeking legal advice but needed to get this review out there to share our experience.Response:Your live link is not accurate as we did not receive the cake next day until 8.56pm. The driver was called back within minutes on day of delivery as I couldn't answer my call as I was driving. The cake was delivered in the slot we choose when we placed order but we received a message from your driver saying it will be delivered in a specific window -anyone would think a time slot given on day will be accurate. Please explain why cakes are not delivered in a refrigerated car. My cake was out on delivery from 8am and delivered at 8.56pm. Which was outside the specified time you gave us.
