There seems to be no way to tell motor insurance companies of your actual no claims years as the only way to prove it is to send your record from previous insurance companies. If they only asked for 9 years or more the only proof you have is 9 or 10 years.

This is only a review of the sign up process and nothing else because the policy hasn't even kicked in yet! Anyway the sign up went really smooth and was very straightforward. The quote and the policy content was very competitive so hopefully if I do need to make any claims they will be easy too deal with. Only time will tell.

You can turn off auto renew but will still get a reminder before policy ends so you shop around or change cover requirements.

I found Darwin through comparethemarket. They were fairly easy to deal with, any questions I had were quickly answered. There were 3 different levels of cover and I chose the middle one (Gold) as it fitted with my requirements almost like a glove. Many of the 'extras' on my renewal came as inclusive on the new policy. At this moment in time I'm quite satisfied.
