Buyers beware of Dealmonday's terrible aftersales service.

Difficulty with faulty/None UK compatible device supplied by Dealmonday (DM). I purchased a Amazon Firestick from DM in Jan 2025, it arrived in none UK (Japanese) packaging with a UK adaptor from Japanese power plug. All went ok with set up and product worked fine for 3 months until it tried to update software. Would not get past start up screen and was stuck cycling. Contacted DM after trying all trouble shooting on Amazon website. DM directed me back to Amazon to use the manufacturers warranty. Amazon UK could not help as this was supplied to DM by Amazon Japan. Contacted Amazon Japan who said only DM could access the warranty, as thy were their customer.Went back to DM who eventually agreed to inspect the device under their own warranty policy, to see if it met the criteria for refund/replacement but said it may be cheaper for me to seek local inspection as they would charge a £60 "Inspection Fee" and I would have to pay return postage (contrary to the details on return policy on their website). I challenged this and they said it was an admin error and would waive the inspection fee. Took pictures of device and all packaging before it was packaged up well to prevent damage in post and dispute later. I initially paid the return postage fee (£4.50) and got the package tracked/signed for with Royal Mail. Package was successfully delivered to a warehouse in Essex but I heard nothing back after a month so contact DM. They said it was in an inspection queue and would be dealt with in turn.Over the next few weeks/months I requested regular updates and was given very standard answers each time. I contacted local Citizens Advice and Trading Standards as the process was taking too long.I then wrote to DM to give 1 week's notice before I started legal proceeding, as they were taking an "unreasonable" amount of time to resolve my complaint and I would be writing a poor review of DM . I eventually got a response for DM asking me not raise a complaint as this would "significantly delay" the inspection process. Finally they offering me a voucher to the value of my purchase (£36.99). I refused this as said I wanted a full refund including return p&p costs (£4.50). They initially stated that they do not give refunds after the initial 30 day period.I challenged this again and said I was about to write an unfavorable review about DM. They responded asking me not to and said they would process a refund to my bank card. Which they eventually did but only for the device cost and not for the return p&p. I had to again threaten legal action to get the £4.50 back. They did pay up in the end but the whole process took almost 6 months to resolve. It's not about the money, it's the principal and flouting of UK consumer legislation that I could not accept.I would NOT use Dealmonday again, Ever!
