Untrustworthy

THIS COMPANY IS VERY DODGY....it's now DECEMBER and Debt Recovery Plus occasionally email me saying I owe them £240 for 2 outstanding tickets from August and September. (£170 each). The letters and emails don’t make any sense. For FOUR months they have told me that “if you don’t pay this figure by X date, your debt will increase to £280.” And then a week goes past the due date for the deposit and I don’t hear from them. It’s only when I look in my JUNK email I discover they extend the due date for the deposit….Their lack of communication is very unsettling…...I called the phone number for the company in October. The man I spoke to on the phone was awfully quiet and very unhelpful. I had informed him that my dad had passed away and I had no way of paying all of this upfront as I was mentally and financially unstable. I was living with my dad for 4 months and I had to move out and start financially contributing in a new home. Again….no consideration, no compassion asked if I could pay a £56 deposit there and then. And I phoned again last week. This northern lad was so CASUAL about it? He told me that they "don't take monthly instalments" but quoted me £37.78 over the course of 9 months.That doesn't even add up to £240 it adds up to £448.56!And then he told me that this wouldn't even "be guaranteed" as his colleagues might offer a "different price" ???UNTRUSTWORTHY.UNPROFESSIONAL.INSUFFICIENT COMMUNICATION.I am an 18-year old young driver with a limited income who is currently going through a bereavement. I do not deserve to be threatened with such letters and emails....
