I received parking charge notices for both of my vehicles after visiting Ripley’s Castle Estate, despite purchasing valid tickets and leaving well within the paid time.
The only issue was that I did not enter my full vehicle registration number when buying the tickets. However, payment was made in full for both vehicles, and I still have the original tickets and proof of purchase.
I appealed both notices and provided all the required evidence, yet both appeals were rejected. The charges have now been passed to Debt Recovery Plus, which is extremely concerning considering there was no loss and the parking was clearly paid for.
When I contacted Debt Recovery Plus, the representative I spoke to was very unhelpful and dismissive. I was told they would take me to court due to “new laws” and that my account would be marked as refusing to pay. When I asked for an email address to send my evidence, I was told they do not provide one and that I would not receive a reply.
I am trying to resolve this by providing clear proof that payment was made, yet I have not been given a fair opportunity to have the evidence properly reviewed.
Extremely disappointing experience and very poor communication throughout.
