One of the many claims Deeper Networks makes is that its devices allow you to use many services such as YouTube ads-free, therefore saving you AT LEAST $150/year.I received my Deeper Mini at the end of July 2023 then at the end of November 2023 the following message appeared if I tried to watch something on YouTube:"Ad blockers violate YouTube's Terms of ServiceIt looks like you may be using an ad blocker. Video playback is blocked unless YouTube is allowlisted or the ad blocker is disabled.Ads allow YouTube to be used by billions worldwide.You can go ad-free with YouTube Premium and creators can still get paid from your subscription"The new firmware to fix the problem took a month. Move forward to the end of March 2024 when again YouTube was blocked but also Google search!I opened a new case on 28/Mar/2024 and on 08/May/2024 I was told to "wait patiently". The case remains open after 66 days and they do not seem to be in any rush to crack the problem. Even when they resolve the issue, it will only be temporarily as I discovered on 09/MAY/2024 when I asked them if this is going to happen every time Google reacts to Deeper's Ad filter and they replied: "yes anytime google changes their architecture, we will have to perform either a hotfix or a full patch. We cannot predict the future patches google releases. This goes for every single app or device running android, iOS, windows, etc. No coder can predict the next update they will push, or new measures they will take. Please know the devs work very hard to keep up and attempt to stay ahead of it."Then on 18/MAY/2024, they sent me the following message: "The devs want to know if you are getting any block or is it completely not working. The YouTube ad block will not block 100% of the ads but should have about a 90% filtration rate."The 2 quotes above show that they are scamming the public and if they lie about ad filtering the chances are they are lying about other features too! For example, I am not too sure about the efficacy of their 7-layer firewall because my Bitdefender still detects Trojans and attacks from time to time.UPDATE 09/06/202474 days have passed since I submitted my case and the problem remains unresolved. What hope do I have when they acknowledge there is no reason for me to trust what they say?: "...As to the developers, we do not control their schedule or their time or how they allocate assignments. All we can do is provide you with the information they share with us. What they have shared with us is that this issue will be resolved on v1.2.8 rel. Although I know they said the same thing about 1.2.7 rel. as well so there is no reason for you to trust what we say. Thank you for your patience, and I do hope we can resolve this issue soon."They don't even deserve 1 star!UPDATE 13/06/2024Today I learned through googling that the latest firmware version 1.2.9.rel was pushed 4 days ago and Support never bothered to let me know. UPDATE 24/06/2024It's been 89 days and 4 firmware updates (currently on 1.2.10.rel) since I open this case and I am still experiencing issues such as not being able to use Google Image Search which I fed back to support on 20/06/2024. To which they replied: "Okay. Thank you. I will check with our devs." on the following day and I have not heard back from them since!It is pretty clear that their customer support service is as poor as their product.
