Sounds great in theory — until you realise how it actually works.When an order is running late, Deliveroo simply cancels it after the delivery deadline.And here’s the catch:Because they “cancelled” it, it no longer qualifies for the late-delivery refund.I waited over an hour for my food, the order passed the delivery time, and instead of compensating me as advertised, they just cancelled it. No refund, no credit, nothing. The whole “refund for late deliveries” benefit becomes completely pointless if Deliveroo can void it any time by pressing the cancel button.This subscription perk sounds good on paper, but in practice it’s a loop designed so the customer never gets what they paid for. Very disappointed — feels like a scam.
