As the old saying goes, if someone rips you off once, it's their fault. If they do it twice, it's your fault.
I have used Deliveroo now and again over the years with very little issue BUT today I used them for a few bits from Asda.
Some items charged for were missing, so contacted them to basically be told 'Sorry, but we aren't going to refund you'!!
When pressed to explain why, they ended the chat. I found a number, only to be told to use live chat, despite me telling her they were useless & were only coming out with copy/paste responses that told me nothing before they ended the chat.
I'm shocked at how they think they can get away with treating customers who complain about being charged for fresh air.
I contacted my bank for a chargeback for the missing items and won't ever use them again.
What they hope to gain by doing this is beyond me as, even if they manage to screw the customer over on one order, surely the loss of future income negates this and more.
The service has its merits and is arguably better than its competitors. When I need quick delivery, I often find the best offers here, especially compared to others. However, the attitudes of the couriers can be inconsistent; not all exhibit a friendly demeanor, and many seem to have limited English skills. Additionally, the app frequently glitches, requiring me to share my HotSpot for drivers to finalize orders. Despite these issues, my deliveries usually arrive on time and in satisfactory condition.
I'm having significant trouble locating drivers, which is incredibly disappointing! I placed an order at 18:25, and it’s now 20:00 with no driver in sight. I doubt this service will improve; even chat support takes too long. I strongly recommend not using this service again.

I wish I could give zero stars. I was banned after making several valid refund claims for cold and spoiled food deliveries, which I am entitled to under consumer protection laws. Stay away from this service at all costs; it truly deserves to fail.
This experience was utterly unacceptable. I waited over an hour for my order, only for it to be canceled without any warning. No food and no adequate explanation—just wasted time and frustration. If you can't fulfill orders, don't accept them. A very poor experience that I won't repeat.
I ordered groceries at 7:30 PM, and after two hours, I called to check on my order, which was supposed to arrive in 40 minutes. I found out that the delivery person had stolen my groceries. Fortunately, the store sent my order again. What kind of people does this service hire?
I wish I could rate this service lower than one star. They provide a delivery time, but once you select a restaurant, the estimated time is always longer than initially stated. More often than not, the order arrives even later. To add insult to injury, you pay a delivery and service fee, yet the delays are often due to multiple deliveries being made at once. Customer service is unhelpful, dismissive, and lacks a proper complaint process.
