I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with a recent travel experience with Delta Airlines that resulted in significant delays, missed connections, and over 10 hours of lost travel time across a round-trip itinerary involving four flights.
From the start, our initial departure was delayed, causing us to miss our connecting flight. The only communication we received was a generic text message saying “we’re sorry”, and we were simply rebooked on another flight three hours later with no meaningful assistance or explanation.
Unfortunately, the return trip was even more frustrating. We boarded the aircraft and began pushing back from the gate. After moving only a few yards in reverse, we were informed of a 10-minute delay. That delay turned into an hour and a half sitting on the plane, which caused us to miss our connecting flight once again.
After arriving in Atlanta, the situation continued to deteriorate. We were left waiting in the airport from 4:50 PM until 12:35 AM, repeatedly receiving delay notices and apologies, only to eventually be told that there was not even an aircraft ready for the flight.
For an airline of Delta’s size and reputation, this level of operational breakdown and lack of proactive customer support is extremely disappointing. Travelers depend on airlines not only for transportation, but also for professionalism and respect for their time.
As a result of these repeated delays and missed connections, I lost more than 10 hours of travel time and missed important meetings. Despite this, there has been no consideration of compensation, reimbursement, or even a meaningful customer service resolution.
I would appreciate Delta reviewing this situation and providing a response regarding appropriate compensation for the significant inconvenience and disruption caused by these delays.
I hope Delta will take this matter seriously and demonstrate the level of customer care the airline claims to value.
