Normally, I don’t write reviews, but my experience with Design Café – Project Id DC 103874 was so disappointing that I feel it’s important to share, so others can avoid going through the same trouble. We signed up with Design Café in early April 2025. At the start, they promised project completion within 75–90 days, which was acceptable since the agreed handover date was July 2nd. However, the reality was very different. For the first 30 days after signing, there was no communication from their side. Later, we learned that our assigned designer was on long leave, and only after repeated follow-ups was a new designer allocated in May. Unfortunately, the process dragged on — every design change request took over a week (sometimes more), and the design phase stretched unnecessarily until mid-June, again only after multiple chasers from our end. Neither the designer nor the project manager showed any proactive involvement.By mid-June, the second designer also went on leave, and a third one was assigned, forcing us to repeat the entire back-and-forth process. We moved into our new home on July 1st without essential furniture because Design Café failed to deliver on their commitment. Frustrated, we descoped major parts like the kitchen, mandir, and crockery unit and instead got them done by a local vendor — who delivered much better quality. When we tried to cancel the project, we were told the 10% booking amount would not be refunded. I even suggested adjusting the same amount against a TV unit delivery, but they refused. Ultimately, the project was only delivered in September, and to our dismay, the quality was terrible. The wardrobes, for example, had huge gaps in the sliding doors, allowing mice, insects, cockroaches, and dust to enter freely. This completely defeated the purpose of having wardrobes in the first place. When we complained, their response was dismissive — “this is what you selected.” At no point did their designer inform us that such gaps would exist.Overall, the entire experience with Design Café was filled with false commitments, lack of transparency, and extremely poor quality of work. After paying such a huge amount, what we got in return was stress — financial, mental, and physical. Our main furniture is ruined, and we only regret ever signing up with them.I strongly recommend others to stay away from Design Café. They are neither reliable nor professional.
